The moment they told me of their engagement!
Another year is upon us, and what not a better way to bring in the New Year than having a bonfire party! My older bro Al has hosted for the second year in a row a huge New Years Eve bonfire party complete with fireworks. Well this years party was more brilliant than last years, both at the fire, and the midnight fireworks, with more pallets burned and more fireworks exploded. Great fun indeed! Now the best part of the whole night was our now, future brother-in-law Allen, proposing to my younger sister Guin for her hand in marriage! I’m so happy for these two who have already been together for 12 years! Way to go!! 2007 has had an incredible start!

The ice master himself, Link!
What a great way to finish off another terrific year with our annual outdoor hockey game at The Link’s house. Link himself sees to it that a full size rink surface is ready for the match every year. This years rink was one of the best so far! With lots of laughs, a few bangs and bruises, some holiday cheer and a 10-10 tie with the Adults vs Kids game, all this was the recipe for an unforgettable evening. This is the first year the kids have tied the adults and it looks like a sign of things to come in the years ahead….the adults reign of the rink is coming to an end I think.
Having fun in life is good for the soul smiley

The finished tree. All 12 feet of it!
Well it’s that time of year again when we’re in the final stretch to Christmas with our annual Christmas Tree harvest. Every year we gas up the power saw (bring the axe and swede saw just in case), pack up the kids, go for breakfast, grab a hot chocolate and search out our tree that has grown for us for the years Christmas season. This year like every other we grabbed a real beauty! The tree was suprisingly heavy! It must have had alot of water in it. Or maybe because the beast was 15′ high when we brought it out of the bush! It was a bit of a struggle to get the tree in the house to say the least. Margot likes to decorate the tree all alone while we (are told to) leave the house. And every year it looks just gorgeous!
It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas smiley
