Wer’e back after another funfilled adventurous weekend at The Mille Lacs Kite Crossing. The crossing this year was 38km long. Paul and I opted to do the short course due to the fact we wanted to get home at a decent time, and not have to drive on the bad roads in the dark after the big snowstorm we had in Minnesota.
I’ve updated my photo gallery (ya I know, it’s about time!) with pics from the weekend.
Enjoy smiley

Well here we are in Garrison, MN in the good ol’ USA attending the Mille Lacs Kite Crossing. The conditions today as you can see from the pictures were BIG! Gusts to 50+km/hr with snow making for white out conditions. The race was postponed for today beacause of the near zero visibility, so we’re hoping with tomorrow’s forecasted lighter winds (30km/hr) that we’ll get the race done and back home safe in good time.

We were down on the lake teaching 2 new guys to snowkiting on the weekend. Although they only flew a 3m trainer kite for about an hour each, they both want to return for more and are asking where they can get a kite! I wish the ’sell’ to the sport was as easy for windsurfing, but with our long cold winters here, it’s easy for active people to get excited about doing something extreme for the winter! One of the guys was from the local newspaper and took a bunch of awesome pictures with his Nikon D100 camera (various lenses) and captured some sweet pics of myself ripping and jumping. A real bonus now is the weather is finally starting to warm up a bit!
Have fun!!
