Crazy Weather…

Just two days ago, we were in the middle of redoing the deck to compliment our new BBQ which we’ve been enjoying for a week on our snow free deck. Heck, we had the yard all cleaned after a long winter, put away our snowkiting gear and was looking forward to the ice melting so we can get on the water windsurfing. Well, Mother Nature around these parts has been playful it seems the past year, so why not give us another 40-50cm’s of snow to deal with! Crap! Just when we thought we were in the clear, whamo!
Our first regatta of the season will be the ‘Dam Jam’ in Des Moines, Iowa May 17-18 and I’ll bet that will be the first time we’ll be on the water this year too. The Dam Jam promises to be a hoot this year with live band, free beer, limo rides to and from the event site, massages after each day of racing, big comfy chair to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs, meals brought to your chair side, tucked in at night…ohhh baby…wait a minute, I got off track there a bit, that’s home I’m talking about! haha Really though, the Dam Jam will be a riot! Can’t wait!!

Unreal, the amount of snow we got. If at least the wind would blow the right direction, so we could go kiting, but not even that…
We were getting so excited to go sailing and windsurfing very soon again. Dam Jam will be probably the first time this year we will be on the water. Last year at least we got back from Hatteras and we were in good shape for Kevins very challenging course! Can’t wait!
Free beer, limos, massages, food brought to you…..OMG, I wanna come too! Right up my alley!
That great BBQ is very slimming. You been staying in shape over the long winter months? Or is it just a very large BBQ. Too funny. Sorry to hear about the snow. You’ll soon be out of it .
Slimming? I’m thinking I’ll be packin’ on the pounds now with that BBQ! Hockey has kept me in good enough shape to whoop your butt on the water this summer! Bring it on Pirate Girl! haha
That is INSANE! I had heard how much snow you guys got in 2 days, but to see the before & after? Wow.
We still have ice too! I did some test holes on our lake and my auger got down 1 1/2 feet and still did not break through. So…I went kiting = sweet fun May 1st! It was pretty solid – feet even stayed dry in the slushy snow.
