Well today we made it out to Thunder Lake for a 4hr session. What a blast!! The wind was really crankin’ at times which made it a little challenging for the ones with larger sails. A co-worker from Link came out for the first time on his new JP 180 board. We had fun teaching him the basics and making sure he made it back to shore, as it was his very first time windsurfing! He did great considering the wind and gusts he had to deal with.
Strat punched a hole in his 7.5m sail with his knee, but had his new GO165 just flying! Too bad we never had the GPS on him! Schwaby had a 27km/hr run with her 6.0m/Bic 293, but top speed of the day went to none other than the Heimerschnitzel himself: Link, 39.4 km/hr on his 8.5m/Prodigy. Way to go Buddy!!
Always fun to get on the water! Even more fun with friends!!
Stay Cool smiley

I missed you guys too! Snuck out of the Maypole dance for a solo soul sesh on Abram. Didn’t have time to pop by Thunder.

Lucky me, I got our for a Mother’s day sail today all by myself, with Brad following me in the boat!! 30.4 kmh…I’ll be chasing you!!! smiley

    Great pictures!
I think I can see where me spot would be….right next to Schwaby!!
Way to go Heimer with the top speed of the day!

  7. Woody says:

If your hubby keeps putting his limbs through his sails, you won’t have any other choice but to sit on the beach!

Great to see the sails just a going! Heimer got a good speed up!
Maybe, one of these days I’ll have a gp–as long as the sail is no higher than me and the board is only 1m.lomg–just like shorty skis! ! ha! ha! love Mom smiley

Hey! Strat and I went out after work for a ride. I had the gps on and my max speed was 42.2Km/hr with the Prodigy/10.4m. Cool eh! We had a great sail for 1 hr.

    Way to go Woody!!!
That sounds like the top speed so far!

Unmotivational weather just makes me a websurf potato. Just came across the speed records for kiting. 54+ MPH on hockey skates!!! Eeeek.

Nice to see a Canadian clocking 66.9mph in Alberta – check the video http://www.flysurfer.de/images/Gallery/albums/album01/Speed_Kite_WM9_1024K.wmv
Interesting shape on the new flysurfer speed. Back to cocooning…

  12. Pavel says:

Just got 42.5km on the Equipe/9.3. Tried to do better on the F155 but the wind died. Great day out there today!

  13. Woodette :) says:

Hey Paul! Strat and me got out today too, and I had a great session! Perfect wind for my 7.1m, but no clue how many kmh!? GPS went to T.Bay with Woody! smiley
Wow – I sound like a real Windsurfer! smiley

  14. Woody says:

Holy Crap!! 42.5 on the Equipe! That is so cool. I wonder what it would feel like at that speed with that board. Did the board not want to lift on you?? You must have been in flat water??
    Way to go!!!

  15. Pavel says:

Warning – the max speed reading is sometimes way off. I checked the track data from the GPS and the fastest run was only about 32kph. Although the data also showed a 57kph run up the beach! I think I would have felt that one. smiley

  16. pavel says:

I had the mast at the very back and a foot in the back strap heading on almost a broad reach – couldn’t load up the small fin much. Water was very flat. I think the Equipe can go over 40 in the right conditions. Hope our fins come in soon!
Hope you get a chance to sail the marsh in TBay – watch out for the rock pile – straight out about 500ft in line with the lighthouse.

  17. Woody says:

Hey, I did get out for a sail at the marsh today after our Shaw course. Light winds. Sailed around mutton island, found a few rocks…sailed right back in!! going for wings with TBay Ray at Fat Cats.
    Back tomorrow!!

  18. Pavel says:

Had a nice flat water sesh here in Sioux (22-37k winds)
Mutton has nice rocky reefs on each side of it. The N side ate a fin of mine once – Strat’s ol’ Bic. We’ll have to try a trip out to the Welcome Is sometime. On a warm sunny day it’s “like” sailing in Aruba except for the 3C water.
